The Zero Emission Norwegian Gas (ZENG) Program is being co-developed by Lyse Energi AS, Nebb Engineering AS, Procom Venture AS and CO2-Norway.

In 3Q-2004 the program completed Project Phase-1: Concept & Feasibility Study for a nominal 40 MW zero-emission power plant that could be operating in Norway by 2008. The Final Report is available for download.

During 2005 a process optimisation study was carried out in order to assess the potential for improving plant thermal efficiency and project economics.       A technical paper presented at the ASME Turbo Expo in Reno-Tahoe, Nevada 6-9th June 2005 entitled Optimization of Thermodynamically Efficient Nominal 40 MW Zero Emission Pilot and Demonstration Power Plant in Norway by Hustad, C-W., Tronstad, I.M., Anderson, R.E., Pronske, K.L. and Viteri, F., provides a summary of project status through to 3Q-2005.

In May 2006 the parties formed the company ZENG AS in order to formalise further development of its zero emission power plant process cycle within a business entity that would also enable international commercialisation of the technology and know-how being developed in the ZENG program.

The program is currently undertaking a 7,6 mill NOK Concept Definition study and is working towards an investment decision for a 50 - 70 MWe demonstration power plant at Risavika in 2008.

The ZENG Program receives financial support from Shell Technology Norway, Statoil, Lyse and the Norwegian government funding agency Gassnova.
